Cable Quotables: Larry King Matches Sounds

Because once a week just wasn't enough to satiate you desk-bound flacks, we've called on Intern Wendy this week to deliver a Tuesday edition of cable news chatter from around TiVo's on-screen guide. But this double dose of quoting goodness wouldn't be possible, of course, without the incessant fodder delivered every week night by our talking head friends at MSNBC, Fox News, and all fourty-four versions of CNN.

• "And I just want to know why they named their offspring after fruit." — Joe Scarborough, trying to figure out celebrity baby naming, Scarborough Country, July 6

• "It sounded like — it sounded like a bomb. I haven't heard — my connection with bombs would be in movies." — Larry King, boy reporter, on the NYC building explosion, CNN Live, July 10

• "No, no, no, it's a pillow. I was right, it's a black pillow, whatever. And now Tom and Katie are frantically looking around the house going 'which one was Suri, which pillow was it? Was it this one, honey? No, no, Suri had more fringe on the top.' Get it? Suri with the fringe?" — Michael Musto, investigating which pillow is really Suri Cruise, Countdown, July 6

• "I mean, this is a guy who asked for money in paper bags and says money is French fries and super size it if he wants a lot of money." — Jane Velez-Mitchell, making the McDonalds/Michael Jackson connection, Nancy Grace, July 6

• "Look, the Miami guys are a bunch of clowns. All right? But clowns can kill people." — Bill O'Reilly, making the terrorist/clown connection, The O'Reilly Factor, July 7

• "I call him, like, the Liberace of Asia. I mean, this guy with his bouffant hairdo, he's got 20,000 foreign films." — Rita Cosby, comparing Kim Jong-Il, Hardball, July 7
