Ex-Seventeen editor and Supra Alpha Kitty Atoosa Rubenstein welcomed Angelika McQueen Rubenstein into the world on Friday night. Says Rubenstein of she and husband Ari's new daughter: "My husband had T-shirts made for the whole family for the Labor Day that said 'A Team.'" Because now everybody in the fam shares an "A." They'll all probably have their own blogs on Babble, too.

Our favorite feature of the new NYC personality database Cityfile? "Voicemail." The site rings up the phone numbers of the famous and powerful, then records their outgoing message to share with all. While you will find Katie Couric, Lewis Black, and Atoosa Rubenstein's greetings, you will not be given their home numbers. Because you would abuse them.

Is Michael Eisner cool enough to hang with the cool kids?

eisner.jpg

Michael Eisner created a successful web series (some 20 million people have seen Prom Queen), exported it for overseas syndication, and even managed to make some cash while doing it. That's pretty much enough evidence to argue that, post-Disney, it is Eisner who gets the last laugh among his former colleagues and current critics.

Now his Web studio Vuguru is back with a second web series, The All-For-Nots, about a fictional indie rock band; that's enough of a news peg to warrant a Grey Lady follow up.

So is Eisner the new media mogul we're led to believe? A profitable web drama, with another show on the way (complete with major product placement!), doesn't yet get him there. But it will be interesting to gauge Eisner's success against another mainstream refugee: Atoosa Rubenstein, who voluntarily left the confines of corporatedom (as opposed to Eisner's ousting) for the digital arena. She's kept herself busy by blogging on Huffington Post, releasing Alpha Kitty videos on Huffington Post, and getting pregnant. But she's also got her sights set on Web video. Plus, she's got like forty thousand MySpace friends, and Eisner doesn't even have a profile … that we know of.

alphakittyeric-pierce.jpg Atoosa Rubenstein has frat boy and Alpha Kitty Eric Pierce weigh in on college gossip website JuicyCampus.com and its uses, like finding out "which frat is the gayest and which sorority is the sluttiest." Eric is "all for free speech" and likes Harry Potter, so his knack for heightened observations comes with authority. [HuffPo]

Christina Aguilera sold her kids for $2 million. J. Lo is moving her twins' pics for upwards of $6 mil. So what type of cash would former Seventeen editor and chief Alpha Kitty be looking for to sell his baby's photos? Well, she wouldn't, but husband Ari – seen here from the forehead up – doesn't mind sacrificing a few hours of his offspring's time for a quick payday. [HuffPo]

"Atoosa Rubenstein, former Editor-In-Chief of Seventeen, launched Fashionista today, a new edition to her recently unveiled online web venture on YouTube called 'Alpha Kitty,'" reads the press release. "Fashionista is a brand new video series aimed at discovering the next icons in fashion, hosted by the men and women that make up Atoosa’s clan of “Alpha Kitties” – fearless, fashion-conscious people who will pursue what they want." It makes sense, then, that they'd feature Faran Krenticil, editor of Fashionista.com, so as to not piss off those who've already adopted the brand name. [Alpha Kitty]

Founder Of Alpha Kitty Learns The Importance Of Becoming An 'Outdoor Cat'

atoosa-rubenstein-flowershirt-bkparty.JPG

Although we can’t always shake the nasty habit of writing in the royal we, occasionally one of our editors decides to shake off the cloak of anonymity to write a short, pithy statement long, rambling diatribe about a topic of their choice. Today, Debbie Newman is that editor.

If you're anything like us, then you most likely did not spend the bulk of your Sunday afternoon reading Page Six magazine and pouring over an interview with Seventeen EIC-turned-entrepreneur Atoosa Rubenstein.

Fortunately, Portfolio blogger Jeff Bercovici is a bird of a different feather. And thanks to his helpful/informative recap, we've learned that, in addition to biting the hand that feeds—er, fed her, Atoosa has also finally come to the realization that she is, in fact, a freakshow.

Then again, in all her Warholification, she also lumped Dirty Sexy Money transsexual Candis Cayne in with the "drag queens," which is bound to start some shit.

After spending most of the summer in the Hamptons while – we're guessing – her husband Ari continued to toil away in the city heat, Atoosa Rubenstein is finally unveiling her post-Seventeen effort, AlphaKitty. For now, it's a series of YouTube clips highlighting select, um, AlphaKitties. Like this one: Twenty-two-year-old Phillipe Blond, whose shoe addiction might only be rivaled by his hair tossing addiction.

Says Atoosa: "Many people have assumed that I would be building a website. That didn't feel right to me - even though it may be contrary to what others are doing, I want to build the brand BEFORE I build the business. Alpha Kitty should be as free spirited as it's audience since its dna is all about self-expression and individuality. I don't want to reign it in before it's bloomed. A website felt too restrictive…at least, to me. So for now, it's an art project."

On MySpace, Miss Kitty herself Atoosa Rubenstein has something like 42,000 friends. On Facebook, Atoosa doesn't even have a profile — yet there is a Facebook group dedicated to her.

It has 28 members and describes itself as: "atoosa rubensein is a very good person. better than oprah. lets dedicate this group to her. oh yeah, if you dont know her she founded cosmogirl and was editor at seventeen till december of last year." Says one devotee: "i love her! she wrote me a "letter" on myspace!!"

There is also the "Alpha Kitty" Facebook group, which has 35 members.

Now that all the cool kids are leaving MySpace for Facebook, the question begs: Will Atoosa follow?

Domain-name obsessed Atoosa.com proprieter Atoosa Rubenstein once wanted to be Jane Pratt. And now she is, at least in name. She's purchased JanePratt.com and JanePratt.org — but they're gifts for the former Jane editor, who Atoosa wants to live on with a vlog.

While Conde Nast mourns the loss of Jane and Bauer buries the fetus of Cocktail Weekly, Hearst is stumbling through some problems of its own.

Atoosa Rubenstein's replacement at Seventeen may not be faring too well, indicates a well-placed Hearst source. Since Ann Shoket took over in January, as we first reported, she's watched as editor after editor has walked out the door while, as one tattler notes, she's "turned Seventeen into CosmoGIRL! Lite, packed with celebs, cartoonish layouts and fluff."

You can see where this is headed.

"Listen, I don't stand in judgment," writes ex-Seventeen EIC Atoosa Rubenstein of magazine beauty editors and lifestyle gurus getting into bed with particular brands. "I can appreciate the Martha/Robert model. Only sleep with who you like. So perhaps the advice to the bottom of the triangle is raise your standards when you drop your drawers (but perhaps I'm just mad that I bought a mascara mentioned in a magazine that doesn’t work very well) or jump into bed with your consumers and you'll see that advertisers will once again pay you, and pay you what you're worth. After all, as cute as you are, they don't like you in that way … they're after your audience."

Atoosa, meanwhile, is MySpace's biggest fan. But as cute as it is, she's just after its audience.

With Atoosa and the gals

atoosastepup.jpg

Atoosa Rubenstein's career and communication with the outside world may exist mostly on MySpace these days, but that was no matter for Step Up, the for-women-by-women empowerment-slash-charity-slash-action network that hosted its Third Annual Inspiration Awards on Thursday night.

Joined by husband Ari, a couple Miss Seventeen contestants (including the Miss 17), and WNBA vet Kym Hampton, Atoosa spoke about her alpha-kitties, being inspired, and how her job as EIC of Seventeen – a print magazine! – was just too limiting for her to make an impact "on her girls."

That's when we looked over at tablemate Sue Schulz to catch her reaction. Sue, of course, is CosmoGIRL!'s EIC, friend of Atoosa, and her former deputy. That means she also works at a print magazine. How limiting!

Elsewhere, fellow tablemate and presenter Ivanka Trump watched other people eat Godiva chocolate (though Ivanka did have bread! with butter!) and MTV maestra SuChin Pak discussed her red carpet chat with Paris Hilton (read: what you saw was what you got) and how she canceled her trip to South Korea to do Oprah.

WWD's Stephanie Smith, meanwhile, could be spotted outside on a Vespa. That's a sign of women being empowered or something, right?
