Page Six follows Denzel Washington’s anonymous chain email trail
— Wed, Jun 22, 2005 —

If you’re like any good gossip whore, you start your day with the New York Post‘s Page Six. And if you’re like any good gossip columnist, you start your day by checking your email. Unfortunately, the Page Sixers might be spending too much of their day doing just that.

USA Today staffer (and Jossip buddy) Cesar Soriano points to today’s item on Denzel Washington visiting a San Antonio medical center that’s caring for those injured in the Iraq war. Only problem is, Denzel visited that hospital in December 2004 – and Page Six’s “source” is actually an anonymous chain letter that’s been flowing from inboxes for months.

It’s all explained at Snopes.com – and, we’re guessing, in tomorrow’s New York Daily News.
