You’ve heard of the Million Man March, but how cute would it be if someone did a play on words, renamed it the Million Phone March, and used it as a campaign to keep a liberal white lady in the MSNBC time slot once devoted to noted bigot Don Imus?

It’d be cute, right?

‘Cause that’s what radio show host Stephanie Miller is doing after her stint hosting the slot last week. (To be fair, the original Million Phone March is a campaign to bring the troops home.) It’s supposedly a “grassroots” campaign – mentioned to us by her publicist – to keep Miller on board.

Turns out, completely unexpectedly, even part of the liberal blogosphere is on board with Stephanie! And they want you to vote for her!

Us? We’ll do whatever it takes to keep MSNBC’s morning slot from becoming another rotating roster of guest hosts, a la The View.

If you’re gonna throw out the baby, throw out the racist and sexist bathwater with it. That’s MSNBC’s plan for Don Imus’ former morning show slot. Testing out next week’s airwaves will be Stephanie Miller, the liberal L.A. talk radio host (yes, she’s syndicated) and daughter of former Congressman William Miller. She begins Monday, and, according to someone with a vested interest in seeing her succeed, “the network is hoping to build Stephanie into a major face of the network.”
