CNN Is Talking About You Behind Your Back, Internet
Chez Pazienza is ready to show MSM what one blogger can do. *Dramatic Music*

Oh please let Chez Pazienza be the next Dan Cooper.

Pazienza, despite having a sexy last name, got axed from his producer gig on CNN's American Morning after brass discovered his personal blog, about the cable news industry and his employer, that was being published without going through the proper "vetting" channels. So where else would a down on his luck member of the media turn to? Arianna Huffington's website, of course.

In a nearly 3,000-word diatribe, Pazienza explains the blog, Deus Ex Malcontent, came about "mostly to pass the time" after the discovery of a brain tumor. Even after it started getting attention from the blogga-sphere, he didn't tell his superiors; what rulebook said he had to? (He later found said rulebook.)

Then someone within CNN, who supposedly held the veritable job title of "Hunter-Downer of Nefarious Blogging Employees," outed Pazienza to his bosses. Cue the meeting with Ed Litvak, and the clearing out of his desk 24 hours later.

Though they're supposedly engaged in uber-outreach with the Internet, CNN is just paying lip-service, he argues. They don't really value those relationships; they just want the links to CNN.com, the embeds of their videos, the gays oogling over Anderson Coopers. (Okay, maybe not that last one.)

Which means Pazienza, now jobless, has plenty of time to push an agenda. Just like Cooper.

"CNN fired me, and did it without even a thought to the power that I might wield as an average person with a brain, a computer, and an audience," he writes. "The mainstream media doesn't believe that new media can embarrass them, hurt them or generally hold them accountable in any way, and they've never been more wrong.

"I'm suddenly in a position to do all three, and I know now that this is what I've been working toward the last few years of my career."
