CNN Money Gives Les Moonves A Virtual Blow-Job
'Can Les Moonves Keep Wooing The Street?' Wonders One Sycophantic Writer

Have you read CNN Money today?

Don't!

At least, not unless you want to sit through "Everybody Loves Les," a veritable ode to CBS' avant-garde chieftain that praises Moonves for his innovative new media ventures [Ed: While simultaneously referencing the most prototypical old-person show EVER in the title] and ultimately leaves us with the not-that-interesting question: "Can Les keep wowing the Street?"

Answer: We have no idea. But then, that's probably because we don't seem to share the writer's asexual crush on Moonves and know nothing about the stock market. One thing we do know, however, is that the only tolerable part of the article is its opening lines ("Every major media company owns something that makes it cool. And then there's CBS").

Also, this inadvertent gem* about media mogul/CBS chairman Sumner Redstone:

"New crack in the house of Redstone."

Um, obvi. As if there was any other explanation as to why this family was so messed up.

* Or should we say "eye-opener?"

Thanks for the link to my story on CBS last week. I always appreciate people sending us new readers. But come on. Be fair. You admit that you know nothing about the stock market. So I think your blurb, which I realize was trying to be provocative and snarky, was a bit harsh. It’s hardly sycophantic of me to point out the fact that CBS has outperformed other media stocks this year. I didn’t make that up. I’m not the one buying CBS stock. Clearly the market likes what it sees from CBS even if you don’t want to admit that. What’s more, I quote people who are dubious of CBS’ digital strategy. So my story was hardly a one-sided puff piece. Trust me, I can take criticism but I just think it’s unfair for you to attack an investment-oriented story when you admit your ignorance about things related to Wall Street. Anyway, I do like your site and am grateful for the link. But you make yourself look really unprofessional when you mock something that you readily admit you don’t understand.
