CNN's Meth-Carrying Richard Quest Arrested After-Hours in Central Park

richardquest.jpg

CNN International's Richard Quest, seen here in a tight-fitting tee, will help take some of the attention away from ABC News and its fumbled debate, thanks to his arrest early this morning in Central Park.

Found inside the lush green acres at around 3:40am today, he volunteered to police, while being escorted off the property, that he was carrying meth.

Add to the fact that Quest is an openly gay fella (even said to have been denied a job at Al-Jazeera English because he's gay, and Jewish), and you're looking at rumormonger that pretty much goes like this:

EVERY GAY IS A DRUG-FUELED SEX HOUND PROWLING FOR SEX IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.

Anderson Cooper? Watch yourself.

What a terrible shock to his career (I imagine they are pretty intolerant); I know that meth is really tempting for sex; people become literally tireless and obsessed. hard to stop.
I seriously doubt that someone in a responsible possition could do just meth long and keep a job like Andersons, or Richard Quests. Some people can be responsible, but it's not easy.
I seems to me that there's nothing especially shameful about "leather "sex" unless you are really prudish and uninventive, as for "getting it from behind" , my experience is that a large proportion of guys like to be bottoms which is just fine.

Sounds like you need to get out of the house sometime, tony and leave the tigers alone.
The only concern to me about meth is safety, which some people lose track of on drugs.

Well, I have always suspected Richard was gay. I don't care. I had no idea he would mess with meth! I do care about that. But not in a punitive way. I just hope he gets help and "straightened out" if you'll pardon the pun.

I support him and hope he keeps his job and gets back on track. He is one of CNN's best assets on camera.

This is just sad for Quest. As for "Tony"'s posting about Anderson Cooper at the gym, I see Anderson at DB gym many afternoons during the week, and he is nothing if not private and very appropriate. He never "trolls" or "cruises" anyone. He mainly talks to his trainer, but is always just polite when another gym member speaks to him. Also, he works at night on live TV, so you must be mistaking him for someone else, Tony.

Both Quest and Cooper fill out a t-shirt nicely and would make a terrific couple, except that Coop likes 'em brown. And I don't know how Quest likes 'em.

Know what? If being out wasn't such a career-ender, hi-profile gay men could meet in- shall we say- "nicer" ways. I am NOT saying meeting in nicer ways and real dating and the possibility of settling down is for all or even most gay men. But wouldn't it be way cool, as the kids say, if there was that option?

Ben this was no wake up call, this was a cry for help. Personally I had neither heard of or seen Mr. Quest (Dick Quest - no how appropriate) prior to this item. I wish him the best in rehab and beyond.

Also Ben, if AC is in a LTR how come no one, anywhere, has captured evidence of same. It's not like he lives his life in a down low closet. Personally I hope he is. After some of the horrors of his child/young adulthood he deserves to have some ongoing happiness.

Maybe Ben will have an answer to this, but from what I can tell, AC is extremely discreet in his personal life, when there are sightings of him around New York City, he's generally alone. It's possible for some famous people to keep the public from knowing anything about who they're involved with and AC has always been successful at that. Plus, the paparazzi are more interested in getting photos of Brangelina and George Clooney to concern themselves with news anchors and their significant others.

Ok, first of all, "Tony the tiger" sounds like a real idiot.

As for Richard being arrested for possessing meth, well it just shows us all how that drug permeates the very fabric of our society, with no boudaries or limitations in regard to socio-economic status. It's a very addictive substance and any individual who finds themselves addicted to it eventually comes to a turning point. I hope that Mr. Quest doesn't get tossed aside by his employer and also that he can endure the shameless and just plain rude individuals like "Tony." When it comes down to it, it's the drug that is bad, not the person.

We had a notorious drunk in a major metropolitan news network where I live but he was quite the newsman. So he kept his job. But he straight and was on at a time when there were far fewer news outlets and he had quite a following. Bottom line, I don't know what will happen With RQ but for his own sake, I hope he gets it together. And without any proof, I'm getting a bit tired of all this Anderson Cooper bashing as well. Few facts:

    1) Richard Quest shouldn't have moved to the US. In most of Europe, nobody would give a damn about his wearing ball-ropes (or whatever that weird stuff's called). I lived 50% of my life in the US, 50% in the EU moving back and forth from one continent to the other regularly. Being mildly openly gay, I can vouch it's much easier to be yourself in the EU.

    2) I am getting FED UP with this meth BS. I've stopped having sex with guys on meth (or drugs, or even on Red Bull) a few years ago. They usually make lousy lovers. You pick them up at night when they're high and you get pretty good sex. But dare you not ask for a quickie in the middle of the day. Those guys can't get it hard, and when they do, they come in no time. Lousy. I like going around with a guy who will indulge in random unprepared sex (e.g. the shower, after dinner, in the car).
I only go for *chemically natural* guys now. And here in Zuerich, it's becoming harder to find such guys in my age group (late 20s).

    3) I'd like to know if Quest's got a big one. Presumably, if he uses cockrings, he's got a little one… Oh well.

    4) As far as AC goes now. The guy is gay, we all know that. He's been spotted around NYC in company of notoriously gay men (although I suppose none of that "sex cruising in the gyms" is true). I'm only talking about walking around town with gay friends. I *know* for a sure fact that he was spotted in Paris at the famous gay oriented club Queen. He was in company amongst others of Jake Shears from Scissor Sisters. Apparently, they weren't hiding and only a few people recognized them. Then again, neither of them is particularly well-known in France (esp. Cooper). An American friend of mine was in the club that night and he spotted them. They were just sitting around, talking with friends. My friend approached them and asked if he could take a cellphone pic with them. They were nice about it and agreed. I saw the picture. It could have been taken in any club, though, so it doesn't prove anything about AC other than he hangs out in clubs with friends. Nothing out of ordinary.

    5) CNN's usually so keen on reporting sex scandals… wonder if they'll cover the Richard Quest's quest for dick.
