Controlling Proportion Size: Jerome Robbins Shows Why Some Things Are Just Too Big For the Cover of a Book

If O.J. Simpson having his book canned wasn't sexy enough publishing industry news for you, meet the cover of Somewhere: The Life of Jerome Robbins. Amanda Vaill's biography of the the West Side Story choreographer was published late last month and – unlike, say, Katie Couric's cover of CBS's Watch magazine or any Glamour cover ever – it wasn't Jerome's hips that needed slimming. The final version of the book jacket appears decidedly less, let's say, impressive than the original mock up.
