Damien Hirst Now Rich Enough to Buy Own Diamond-Encrusted Skull Back
When art exceeds business in lucrativeness

Despite the world's financial market crumbling around us, Damien Hirst managed to beat the expectations of his London auction at Sotheby's last night by selling 54 pieces of art for $127 million dollars. (We predicted a little less, but this is Jossip, not Jartappraisers.com.)

That officially killed the record for highest price fetched at an auction dedicated to a single artist, but didn't stop one onlooker from referring to the auction as a "clearance sale."

That part, we did predict.
