Dan Abrams Defends Heath Ledger's Gay Legacy

MSNBC host Dan Abrams contributions to the gay community, we once imagined, consisted only of winking at us from across the room at a cable news event. Not so! Here he is on last night's Live with Dan Abrams refusing to let the far-right from linking Heath Ledger's death to the gay role he played in Brokeback Mountain. Swoon. [Queerty]

    No. 1 Sad says:

As a follower of Jesus Christ - as a 'Christian' - it breaks my heart to hear that these people who claim to follow Him are making such hurtful and false claims in Jesus' name. Not only do these claims misrepresent the unconditional love Jesus has for ALL people (even more, the fact that He spent most of His time in community with the disheartened, poor, criminals and hurting), they are judgemental and false … at the very heart of it, suffering does not have a cause/effect relationship with specific 'sin'- as these claims suggest.

It amazes me and scares me - the lack of respect we show each other in this society. We may have our differences, but why can't we love and respect each other rather than constantly tear each other down?
