Every once in a while we catch a glimpse of David Carr's New York Times video blog, Carpetbagger. Especially now that it's Oscar season, we are trying to follow all those hip, trendy people in Times Square's predictions on this year's winners.
And, despite his self-professed "ratings of a nightlight," Carr actually ran into some guy on the street who actually watches the show. Then we were smacked upside with head with Carr's cringing homophobia, inspired by Brokeback Mountain star, Heath Ledger.
Carr approaches two ladies with his cardboard poster full of Oscar Nominated hotties, and they agree that they think Ledger will win the Oscar:
Lady: "Him makin' out with a guy, nothin' hotter than that."
Carr: "Really, the guy on guy thing? No problem? I get a little nervous just holdin' 'em this close, to be honest."
See, we're not even sure if that really is homophobia. All the guys on the poster are (we think) more or less straight. So, Carr is nervous around pictures of straight guys? Or maybe it's just pictures of good looking people? Or people with talent in general?
