David Gregory Has Never Liked Joe Scarborough

Some background on Tuesday night's primary coverage dust up between MSNBC's Joe Scarborough and David Gregory:

The twosome "have never" gotten along, says a reputable source. A year ago, Gregory bad mouthed Scarborough to somebody who, unbeknownst to Gregory, was a Scarborough friend/fan. It can be assumed the dis made its way back to Scarborough, who found reason to battle against his fellow newsie.

MSNBC chief Phil Griffin "has been trying to keep them in their corners ever since," says our insider. Then again, Griffin sees the post-Chris Matthews future of the network in Gregory, which means "Scarborough got dumped from his usual position on election night so Gregory could be in charge of the panel."

Inexplicable to many producers under the NBC News umbrella, then, is why Gregory is the trophy boy, when he was unable to fill Don Imus' morning slot, while Joe Scarborough performed much better. That, and Gregory's own 6pm numbers continue not to impress.

Joe is a big baby - put on your big girl pants and deal Joey. Rachel Maddow runs circles around Joe which is why he left the set, took his ball and went home. GROW UP

I like and miss seeing Joe on MSNBC. I have no use for the sock puppet, Gregory. I have stopped tuning in to MSNBC>>>.

Let's be serious. Joe Scarborough may have done better the David Gregory on MSNBC at 6AM. But no one can take the place of Imus. NO—BODY!

MSNBC is a dying cable channel. And soon they will all be moving to different organizations. Phil Griffin is a weasel who didn't stand up for Imus when he needed him. Now they are losing big time.

I like both guys and actually think they would be good together. I must add that Gregory has many talents and seems more fair than your others. It is almost impossible to watch Matthews anymore and others share that opinion. Maybe his diabetic and malaria drugs need to be changed.

Anyone who watches political coverage without an agenda knows Scarborough is the best, other than Tim Russert, explaining political campaigns and results. Everybody I know who matters in Washington or the media watches his morning show. David Gregory is also a voice of reason at a network that has two very troubled souls running their election coverage.

David Gregory seems much more fair and an ethical journalist than Chris Mathews. I will celebrate the day when Mathews leaves the MSNBC and hopefully no news/medias will accept him as a jounalist in the future.

David Gregory is a wanna-be and that's it. I used to get the Imus show but after the last big overblown dustup he got cancelled here. I remember that the I-man was a gregory fan always giving the barely talented newsman the benefit of the doubt, he saw something, and as much as i really do appriciate Imus' insights and evaluation of talent, i never saw what he saw in gregory. He's such a suck-up always looking for validation from anyone with true talent, and the fact that i see it and the Legend doesnt or chooses not to be obvious about it, i cant figure it out.David Gregory is a TOOL.

I like both guys, each in their own way.
We all have tiffs, then do our jobs and get on with it. And contrary to some previously-posted opinion here, the high ratings at msnbc prove that it is indeed a live-and-kicking channel. (Too bad, Fox-lovers, but saying its so doesn't make it so.)
