Just a quick FYI: Owning your own production has its benefits. Because David Letterman’s company, Worldwide Pants, made a separate agreement with the Writers Guild of America, the second-rated late night host can have Screen Actors Guild guests without any awkwardness and/or protests from the WGA.
Robin Williams, occasional Writers Guild protestor and SGA member, will be Letterman’s first guest on Wednesday. Williams has bumped non-SGA member Donald Trump to Friday night’s show. Personally, we’re just happy to see Donald Trump slighted.
In meantime, scab Jay Leno will have to suck up to Mike Huckabee when he returns tonight. As the strike goes on, bookers at The Tonight Show are going to be in trouble. If Us Weekly has taught us anything, the only interesting people in the world are SGA members.

Letterman was as unfunny as ever WITH writers…he is so last century! Jay Leno showed his comedy roots and did just fine; Dave would never have even tried a monologue without a dozen writers behind him.
Leno is so UNfunny! Such a fake and phoney! I love Dave. He is original and doesn’t give a damn!!!
Dave good. Leno bad.
