David Letterman Got Dem Big Balls, Grills Anne Hathaway
Who does he think he is, a journalist?

Despite her reluctance to open up to any publication regarding her ex Raffaello Follieri, Anne Hathaway broke it down on The Late Show last night after some intense badgering by David Letterman. Which means that Letterman officially accomplished what Graydon Carter and all of Vanity Fair's pull could not: putting Hathaway on the spot.

Clip after the jump (fun stuff starts in around 2:40):

Even though no one cares about Follieri and his white-collar crimes now that the country is crashing and burning, this interview reveals what we already speculated was going on with Letterman: the buck-toothed entertainment host is becoming more controversial and political in an effort to either a) Validate his relevancy b) Boost ratings (which he's not) or c) A combination of A and B.

It was only last week that Letterman was on John McCain's case not once but twice for lying to CBS and the public, and now with this Hathaway interview there is officially a trend of David shedding his genial goofy shtick in order to actually deliver information the public is interested in hearing about.

Keep this up Dave, and you might soon by visited by some shadowy government officials in the near future.

I think Dave is righteously pissed off. He's been going through the motions for the past few years and he's coming back around.

And John McCain is making everyone miss Ron Paul: http://tinyurl.com/66o79q

"Genial goofy schtick?" Are you serious? Letterman's entire persona is built around being a curmudgeonly asshole.
