Don Imus Robbed America From 'Thoughtful Consideration' on Gerald Ford
And other ridiculous assertions from the defamation lawsuit against him

donimus29.jpg

Don Imus' on-air remarks about an advertiser not only cost the client $40,000 a day in lost book sales (hah!), but have assailed Americans' grasp on history!

Flatsigned Press, which is suing Imus and CBS Radio for $4 million over his remarks last year about the "cheesy" book they were publishing, now claims, thanks to Imus, "much of the public never heard about the new information President Ford left the world regarding the assassination of President John F. Kennedy." They've gone so far as to claim Imus' comments were "libelous," even though, from what we surmised, his statements were nothing more than hyperbolic opinion — though he did go off-script, which may have violated their advertiser agreement.

"The issue of highest concern to me is the fact that Imus’ remarks cheapened perceptions of Ford’s last work and insulted a much beloved American president in the process," reads a statement issued today from Tim Miller, chairman of Flatsigned, which refused 15 "make good" spots to smooth things over. "Until I worked with Ford and published this book, I’d never believed in a conspiracy, and to Ford’s dying day he would never admit to or claim that there was a conspiracy, yet his comments in the forward are laced with hints that warrant thoughtful consideration that there may be more information that the Warren Commission couldn’t discuss in 1963."

By making fun of the book, calling Flatsigned Press "bastards," accusing Flatsigned of "waiting for [Ford] to croak," and reminding listeners "Now that Ford has flatlined, you can go to Flatsigned.com," Imus robbed us all from having that thoughtful consideration that we're now forced to turn to The View for. And isn't that the real atrocity?

Good Luck to this Book Publisher. Martin Garbus is on the case. And Don Imus has a way of adding things to make more people consider buying a book then some comment not on the script.

And waiting till now is like saying; "Let's wait till he is making money again before we go after him". Why not Sue while he was working at WFAN?

Not a chance this case will be won by this fly by night publisher.

The reason for the delay was my goal was to work things out without involving the courts. Don Imus didn't respond; CBS did with an offer even. So while I appreciate your right to free speech, you don't have any idea what you are talking about. I waited until Imus was making money again? Are you serious? His income has little to do with his worth and the key here is for him to take back his false statements and harm caused. Getting your facts and your story straight would be an idea before you broadcast your thoughts to the world. Ironically, you sound like Don Imus himself. Is that you Don?
    Sincerely,
    Tim Miller, President

The questions that beg to to be answered are this: Your contract was with WFAN and CBS…Correct?
Don Imus NO LONGER WORKS FOR CBS or WFAN….Correct? Sue the people that you signed the contract with…DUH…

    Mr. Miller,

At the time Don Imus added his opinion to your purchased time, the book by Gerald R. Ford was being sold for over $800.00. The market for this book was slim. Thus whether Don Imus made his alleged ireeverent remarks regarding this book was easily remedied. You could have pulled the advertisement and asked for a refund. But you knew when you bought the time you had the best book seller on Radio and didn't.

So now your book is being sold for $250.00 on certain sites and you go after him and CBS. Well CBS may pay you, but Don Imus will not retract nor pay you a cent. You can take that to the bank.

Oh, I'm sure that's REALLY Tim Miller at comment No. 2.

Anyway, flatlined… er, I mean flatsigned has gotten enough publicity out of this to easily equate that four-mil.

I thought that it was funny when Don said that, and I listened more closely the next time I heard the spots. That's his way to get people to listen. The less-than-astute Mr. Miller knew that, I'm sure.

flatsigned lost $40,000 a day? Show me that they sold half of that much in a day.

Pardon me, but I need to go make a cup of Bigelow tea. Probably green tea, not the Constant Comment®
that Ruth brewed up when she was half in the bag out in the kitchen. Don's listeners know of what I write.

    Be well.

Mr Miller has a reputation here in Nashville and around the country as a LIAR and his reputation is as clean as Jesse James. If This lawsuit hasnt settled I would URGE Imus and any others to supeona Mr Miller's former employees (including his SISTER) put them under oath and you will find that Mr Miller hasnt sold $40k in that book since it was printed much less in a short span of a day.Mr Miller ran huge sales of 50% off the $250 just to get people to look at his "historic" books…..and he brags of being on shows like G Gordon Liddy…Miller was ONLY on Mr Liddy's show because he bought an advertising package that allowed a business to promote their product in a form of an onterview…Mr Miller is not an honest person and it saddens so many of us in the collectible industry to see what he does….He also violated federal and state law by setting up a lottery scheme he called a 10k run…the more you buy the more along the race to win $2-5,000….I wonder if one of his few relatives left working for him won the "race"……DEPOSE HI FORMER EMPLOYEES TO GET THE TRUTH
