Page Six's lead item today about Michael Vartan's anti-Jennifer Garner fan club has been met with .. yawns, as has most of P6's August gossip.
But a few people have perked up following the report's publication, such as the MV campaign chief.
We're not going to even try to verify the existence of said fan campaign or that Jodi Weinraub is heading it up. We're just going to publish her note to us, which hopes for some clarification in The Case of the Garner Street Memo.
I was wondering if you could do me a favor. Besides having a raging migraine my main problem right now is that I'm the creator of the MV Campaign. Yes, I know what you're thinking…crazy fangirl. Well this "fangirl" is a forty-one year old married mother of two children whose heads I hope not to rip off when they come home from school due to all the crap I've been dealing with because of the article in "Page Six".
I just wanted to clarify that the "memo" referred to in the "Page Six" column was absolutely not generated by anyone involved in the campaign. We have tried our best to gear the campaign away from the more salacious aspects of the situation. While I do realize Mr. Johnson did not say that the "memo" came from someone inside the campaign, people unfortunately will naturally assume that it did. In no way shape or form does anyone connected with the campaign condone this "memo".
While I realize that you have not inferred too or mentioned the campaign, for better or worse at this time we are considered by many to be the most vocal group of "online fans" you know, us "crazy fan girls". I hope that in some way you might mention that we had nothing to do with this so-called "memo".
Thanks and Best Regards,
Jodi Weinraub

We're glad we could set the record straight for you, Jodi. But we don't need to be the first to tell you that RJ & Co. don't care whether it was you who sent the memo. They're too busy criticizing Jessica Coen's character.
