Eliot Spitzer a Punchline Not Even 24 Hours Later

David Letterman's Top 10 countdown last night, "Eliot Spitzer Excuses," gets extra points for not having a single one appear on the cover of a New York tabloid this morning. Snaps for originality.

Idiots like Spitzer deserve every embarassment possible. I never saw such a sad defeated look as on his wife's face as she stood by him in that televised statement. I hope the business women who cater to these power mongers get punished accordingly. Those who say prostitution is a necessary service have no souls, or they would not be party to destroying families and reputations.
My problem with Spitzer is not that he had sex with someone else. I don't condone it, but I'm not going to pass judgement on it. I feel bad for his wife, that it happened and that she found out about it. It's humilating and emotionally painful. For her and their daughters, who are certainly old enough to know what it's all about.
I can't stand him because he held a "Holier than THou" attitude, that he portrayed himself as a crime buster and buster of prostitution, showed himself off as disgusted by the whole thing, when he himself was doing it. The Hypocrisy of him is obscene. See, it's that: the Hypocrisy that bugs the crap out of people. That's why they skewer the Republicans, because they hold themselves up as vestiges of decency where others are not. And, this guy, is the same. It doesn't matter if they are Democrats or Republicans, Conservatives or Liberals. So, he's gonna hang for it and rightfully he should. And he wasn't just a power as an aphrodisiac politician, he was an Attorney General, and for that his standards should have been higher.
He's toast and his career is over.
