Elle magazine is getting into (what Women's Wear Daily calls) "the movie business." While we would love a Devil Wears Prada style account of what goes on behind the Elle walls, the fashion mag has something completely different in mind.
The mag is creating a film adaptation of an October feature that focuses on "fashion and self-discovery." And if Julia Stiles weren't the director, we might actually think this was a sweet idea. (Actually, we prefer Stiles over, say, Kirsten Dunst, but our guess is that Bijoux Phillips and Sofia Coppola were just too busy.)
Titled Raving, the "movie" will debut on Elle.com (which makes us wonder if it is actually a movie) and has one redeeming quality: it stars Zooey Deschanel.
The flick, titled "Raving," is about the emotional connection between a young woman and a lonely older man who meet on a New York City street corner.
So, basically, Elle's film is Lost in Translation, only with more Oscar de la Renta and fewer Japanese people.
