Why can't working at a women's fashion magazine be as easy as the lifestyle perpetrated by women's fashion magazines? For starters, Elle creative director Joe Zee does not exist in the lifestyle portion of the previous sentence.

Zee's being blamed for the latest high-profile exit from the Hachette Filipacchi glossy, which claimed style director Isabelle Dupree. Or, as girly blog Jezebel puts it, after tallying up the 18 staff exits (or 29% of the masthead) in the last six months: "Tally: 4 likely Joe Zee-related firings, 14 flights of fancy."

At the very least, it keeps the unpaid slaves at Mastheads.org on their toes.
