Who wants to be the next Maria Bartiromo? Apparently, no one. (Okaaay, that's not entirely true. That Telemundo chick definitely made a run for it by nailing the Los Angeles mayor). But now, obsessive MSNBC fans are claiming Bartiromo has found her match in rising network "star" Erin Burnett.
"Since her CNBC debut in 1993, Maria Bartiromo’s status as Wall Street’s anchorwoman has largely gone unchallenged," writes Portfolio. "That is, until Erin Burnett came along. The host of Street Signs and co-anchor of Squawk on the Street, Burnett is being dubbed 'Maria 2.0' by her fans, business bloggers are anointing her CNBC’s new superstar, and message boards are debating her merits and her makeup."
But how does Bartiromo's CNBC rival feel about the comparison? Turns out not so favorably!
“It’s sort of a strange feeling. Honestly, it’s just little old me. It’s flattering,” says Burnett, 31. “Some of them actually seem like pretty normal people.” When asked about being considered the next-gen Bartiromo, Burnett says: “People always like to have rivalries. She and I get along, but we have different styles. I don’t know if the comparison is flattering [to either one of us.]”
And though Erin's faux-modest "little old me" comment had a few of us rolling our eyes, she won us over by describing the freakshows on the messageboards as seemingly normal, and for teaching us that "She and I get along, but we have different styles" is a diplomatic, and extremely adult way of saying, "She sleeps with married Citigroup execs whereas I do not."

Proclivity for extramarital affairs would do it….yeah. However, we don't know who and how many Erin is entertaining. It probably won't matter a year from now when FOX Business News is clobbering both.
I Love Erin
I am bemused.. It takes alot to get where one is especially in 'this' day and age. All the recognition one can get is appreciated.Like the Hollywood scene gossip & rumours abound don't ya 'think' … Haters as mainstreet call it , try to bring you down on Purpose. Most especially if its a rival. When you are number one EVERYONE wants to be the next number one ( trust me I 'know')I respect and admire such a person , so should you …
