So Obama is down to three men, according to inside sources (those same sources that said the public might have the choice named as early as today … anybody?): Evan Bayh from Indiana, Tim Kaine from Virginia, and that nice man from Delaware. But whoops, looks like Evan B. already has one too many women in his life: His wife Susan is a known brat who berates the help and gets the couple kicked out of prestigious country clubs.
That won't be good as Obama fights criticism that he's too elitist when the wife of his running mate is getting all Devil Wears Prada with the campaign staff.
But it's not like Bayh's wife is the lone candidate for VP liabilities — so let's look at some of the drawbacks of the other potentials so Obama can Google their names and find this convenient list:
Tim Kaine: Sure, he was a lawyer who made a career out of helping minorities and under-privileged folks with disabilities who were screwed out of housing situations, but did you know that he is also a Catholic? Which doesn't necessarily mean that he will oppose abortions, or will use religion to promote a faith-based abstinence program (in fact, he cut funding for those programs), but it certainly makes it easier for the media to portray him this way. With all the Rev. Wright oogly-moogly that is still fresh in the American consciousness — and John Mc-remains on his Republican foe's attack sheet — it might behoove Senator Obama not to reopen any church vs. state debates.
Joe Biden: The man does have his foreign policy issues down, which would be a great advantage to Obama (dude was just in Georgia), and has a son going to Iraq (patriotic!). Then again, this is the man who said he "can take on Rudy Giuliani on terror" and has a history of saying weirdly inappropriate things that make great reusable soundbites perfect for McCain's attack ads. Still, Biden makes the best choice overall, and his second wife (the first one died in a car accident with his infant daughter), Jill Jacobs, has managed to stay out of the press. Oh, but Biden's Catholic as well, so screw it. What, were there no Jews available to round out the team? Right: Lieberman is leaning McCain.

Listen, whatever it is you think about Obama, the reality is that John McCain is not smart enough to be our president. McCain is not capable of navigating the increasingly complicated international environment that exists now and will exist into the future. McCain’s strong-arm, knee-jerk, black-white thinking will get us into another war. Republicans do not know how to pick their battles. Everything is a threat. Vote for Obama if you care about bringing economic stability back to the working-class and restoring America’s moral authority abroad.
There's always John Edwards!!!
Hilary Smith is a moron!! I woudln't trust Barack Obama to pay my monthly bills!!

You are an idiot. I wouldn't trust any republican who votes for tax cuts for the rich to let me give myself a chance to pay my bills. You obviously are a closet racist. Or maybe you aren't so discreet about it. Anyway, sorry for the big words, James. I hope I didn't confuse you. Fuckin moron
