What is going to happen to Rush Limbaugh now that Barack Obama has won both the media's heart and the presidency? We've already posited that he might actually gain some ground during a liberal term, since people always love the opposition.
But so far, the honeymoon for Obama is still going on, and anti-Barack rhetoric is no more or less popular than it was a week ago. So how does Limbaugh and his conservative ilk explain the love for Obama, despite his win? Shouldn't The Daily Show be preparing for cancellation while Matt Drudge and Limbaugh get read to take over the air/Internet waves?
Not if the media is just a lonely young teenage girl, and Obama is the young gangster from the wrong side of the track. It's the stupidest metaphor ever, but don't blame us, blame Rush.
You and I, we look at the media, we look at this orgasm, and it's what it is, this unending, multiple orgasm that the media particularly is having with Obama, and we say, "How in the world do they see things differently than we do?" Folks, it's not really complicated. When you're young — remember the first time you fall in love or even think you fall in love? You hope as you get older that that happens to you, you would love to recapture it. The first time of anything and the media right now is trying to recapture Camelot and they think they have. They're in the midst of recreating Camelot and capturing it. They're trying to relive their youth, all these Drive-Bys are, and the thing about love is that you know you can't talk anybody out of it. If you have a kid who loves somebody who's a reprobate and you're terribly scared about it and you try to talk him out of it you know it just drives them further into the arms of the person that you don't like. So there's no talking them out of this, and there's no changing their mind about it. They're going to love Obama for as long as he's around.
There are so many parts of this speech that just make you want to LOL (Obama orgasms!), but the absolute worst thing Limbaugh and other conservatives can do for their argument is invoke the Kennedys, even if it's to say that the media is trying to recapture the feeling of them. It's the equivalent of a liberal blogger saying that a conservative candidate was too much like Abraham Lincoln (also a Republican).

What flies in the face of Limbaugh telling the truth is the fact that his lawyer Roy Black used "he suffers from intractible back pain" as the excuse for his addiction to pain medication. And where can you find Mr. Limbaugh this weekend?
