Facebook Denies Breastfeeding Application

There's been a huge (well, not that huge) controversy over on Facebook with site administrators taking down photos of mothers breastfeeding their children, claiming that it falls under "decency" term requirements for pictures. So yes, a bunch of moms (and horny guys who get off on seeing boobs on Facebook) started a petition to boycott Facebook until women everywhere are free to nurse their brood in online public.
But of course the real issue here isn't that Facebook execs think that breastfeeding is disgusting or inappropriate, just that there are no exceptions to the "no breast" rule. Which is understandable. Plus, god love ya, but if you just HAVE to show your friends digital pics of your baby milking your teat, just put the damn thing up on Flickr.

Get real here folks, breastfeeding is a legal right and no one is trying to show their boobs for the sake of display. I have seen a lot more than that scanning pictures of my kids friends on facebook…. thongs and skimpy bras….. and FB doesn't take them down….. what gives?????

Um… yeah, I gotsta say I don't really get why anyone would feel the NEED to post breastfeeding pics on Facebook. And to take it to this level is just kind of ridiculous.

I don't really get why anyone would feel the NEED to post bottlefeeding pics on Facebook. How about we just ban all pictures of babies eating? If you just HAVE to show your friends a pic of you shoving a bottle in your baby, put it on Flickr.

bfing is so gross. nobody wants to see it, and it's not a very wise decision to make for your baby.

I think there is a time and place for everything including when you breastfeed your baby. Many years ago women were more discreet and didn't feel the need to whip out the mammary gland in a restaurant or library or other public venue like they do today. No one wants to see your baby gnawing on your tit in public unless it is a horny teenage boy or a perverted old coot.

If feeding your baby with a bottle is not necessarily something you would want to post, then WHY would you want to post yourself breastfeeding your baby? Could it be because feeding a baby is boring for strangers to watch unless you insert your boobs into the picture? That makes the issue MOM craving attention for being mom, not breastfeeding or babies.

When the babies in the breastfeeding pics grow up I am sure they will be thrilled that their mothers posted the pics on the internet for all to see.

@Jen: For real. I can only imagine what cave my son would be hiding in today if I had posted such photos.
