Fox News Very Sorry It Made Times Staffers Look Like Gremlins

And here we thought everyone in the media was falling all over themselves to point out how Karl Rove is the best thing to happen to cable news since Anderson Cooper's baby blues. But there remains some controversy about Fox News hiring the former White House strategist. Something about Rove's refusal to testify before Congress? Scandal!

Oh, but lest you think that Chris Wallace defending Rove was the most noteworthy part of yesterday's Fox News Q&A at the Television Critics Association annual event, there's this: The network is finally saying it regrets those New York Times Photoshop illustrations. Backtrack!

But [Fox News’ executive vice president John] Moody found himself on the defensive over recent antics on the network’s morning show, Fox & Friends, which displayed Photoshopped images of The New York Times reporter Jacques Steinberg and his editor, Steven Reddicliffe.

“It was regrettable,” Moody said.

Later Moody added that he “wished” Fox & Friends “hadn’t done it. They didn’t ask me first.” But he said the incident will not result in any official standards adjustments at the show.

Moody called Fox & Friends a mix of news and entertainment but conceded that some of the “humor” on the show may not appeal to some viewers.

“Some of the humor gets edgy,” he added, “and some people don’t think it’s funny.”

How is suppose to be funny unless you see the real images? Fox was never going to show them, so it wasn't meant to be funny.

'edgy'? those idiots' attempts at humor are about as edgy as a melted lump of cheese.
