Gay 'Marriage' Belongs In Quotes
Congratulations, CNN! Thanks to your contention that gay marriage isn't real marriage — even though California agreed it is — you've slung yourself into the same category as the right-wing American Family News Network.
This week we brought your attention to CNN's placement of "marries" in quotation marks in a headline about Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi getting married.
Know who also likes to put the gay version of marriage in quotes? OneNewsNow.com, the Christian-focused conservative site that the AFNN runs.
Conservative new site One News Now took a few liberties with the Associated Press' article on Hallmark's gay marriage cards.
As you can see, ONN added a few contentious quotation marks to the term "marriage," and, as if that's not queer enough, replaces the word "same-sex" with homosexual. They do, however, refer to "same-sex civil unions." So, the H-word, long a panic button for the right, is linked to marriage - warning! - while "same-sex" nestles safely next to civil unions, far removed from "tradition."
Right-wing Christians are obsessed lunatics, and desperately need a wife, I mean life. If they had any shred of richness, and depth in their interpersonal relationships, they wouldn't have any interest in the intimate lives of gay people. Take a closer look at their reason for behaving like a bunch of graceless, pidgeons, and you'll see nothing but retched fools looking over their shoulders, waiting for instruction from their sheep herder, because they're dumb!
I've been married for almost 3 years, or 52 years less than the first lesbian couple to marry in San Francisco have been together. Britney Spears' first husband (Jason what's-his-face) had more legal rights in those 55 hours than some couples have after 10, 20, 30, 40 years.
CNN = FOX News these days …
That quotation marks thing just makes me chuckle. Talk about a childish, sore-loser thing to do. Anti-gay conservatism is swirling down the bowl. Good riddance!
Unfortunately, too many Americans have a second grader's understanding of sexual (love) orientation and gender identity.
I'm happy for Ellen and Portia, but it boggles my mind that their family will gain and lose rights as they cross state borders. Idiotic US laws. I can't see how any LGBTIQ American could financially-sanction this immoral discrimination
through tax compliance. GAY TAX PROTEST.
