Golden Globe nominees were announced this morning. Despite wide critical acclaim, Milk only brought in a Best Actor nod for Sean Penn, because America would apparently rather watch James Franco doing something illegal – like being perpetually high, say – than have him do a dramatic turn as Harvey Milk's homosexual lover Scotty.
Other nominees include Clint Eastwood, but not for his part in Damn You Kids Get Off My Lawn Gran Torino. Instead, Eastwood gets accolades for his direction in The Changeling, which also gets a Best Actress snag for Angelina. Her life-partner, Brad Pitt, got a Benjamin Button Best Actor nod.
