Gossip Girl Spin-Off In Development, Possibly Maybe

Even though there is already a spin-off of the Gossip Girl books, centering around Jenny Humphrey and her clothing line, CW execs say that if/when they do their own television break-away, it won't be based off of Cecily Von Ziegesar's It Girl series. Which is sad, because where else are they going to pull a self-absorbed pretty teen from the ranks of their sho…wait, nevermind.

But before you write this off as mere speculation, remember that CW is banking on two shows, and only two shows for their moneymakers: Gossip Girl and 90210. And now that the pilot for The Graysons, about the life and times of Batman's Robin, have been scrapped it seems only natural that Josh Schwartz et. all go back to what's been proven to be a surefire hit: hot, bratty teens with too much money and not enough discipline.

We throw our hat in the ring for: A Chuck Bass-only production!

Really, Jossip? Um, I'm not a teen and it's pretty obvious by doing a Wikipedia search that The It Girl is all about Jenny Humphrey's experience at BOARDING SCHOOL. Nothing about a clothing line. And good job about mentioning the OTHER GG spin off series, Gossip Girl: The Carlyles. Intrepid reporting, as always.
