Anderson Cooper's Hot Tracks / Jossip
Anderson Cooper's Hot Tracks
— Fri, Jun 9, 2006 —

In the never ending effort to keep Anderson Cooper's tome Dispatches From the Edge far and above Ann Coulter's latest hate Bible – Vanity Fair cover! Book readings! Larry King! – the Coopster is latching on to iTunes with his very own Celebrity Playlist. Peeking into Anderson's iPod is so much sexier than doing it with President Bush, especially when it comes with footnotes. So what, gay tell, is Cooper listening to? Or, more importantly, where are the homosexual undertones? Lucky you, we've highlighted them.

1) "Summer In Siam" - If you have been lucky enough to have spent some quiet time in Southeast Asia, then you'll really understand this song.

Translation: The deathly silence of an impending tsunami really puts me in the mood.

2) "Set the Ray to Jerry" - In classic Billy Corgan style, he writes a beautiful little love song, and gives it a Dada-esque title but that's part of the charm.

Translation: Julio sings this to me during my naps.

3) "New Year's Day" - You can't say anything bad about U2. Few, if any, bands can stay relevant for so long. I went to their last concert and it was the best live performance I've ever seen.

Translation: May I maintain my youthful look and appearance for years to come.

4) "Feeling Good" - No one's voice can move like Nina Simone. This song make me smile.

Translation: I'm the god damn lead anchor of CNN. I don't need to use correct grammar.

5) "What's the Frequency, Kenneth?" - Might be tempting fate to pick a song inspired by the mugging of a news anchor.

Translation: It's always been a role play fantasty of mine ..

And that's just the beginning. More gay repression, after the jump.

6) "Move On Up (Extended Version)" - Smooth soul classic. Nothing better to walk around New York City with.

Translation: Did I mention I'm a size queen?

7) "You've Just Got It All" - Still a relatively small New York City band. If you hear that they are playing some small venue go see them before they blow up.

Translation: Unless you're me, and then you can worship the Scissor Sisters at any point in their career.

8) "Pressure Drop" - Brilliant song, reminds me of my misspent youth.

Translation: Draw your own fucking conclusions.

9) "Tive Razao" - Brazilian folk singer, known in the states for his Protuguese covers of David Bowie songs but I actually prefer his own stuff.

Translation: Bowie is old and wrinkled; of course I prefer anything else.

10) "Coffee & TV" - If I only drank coffee it would be perfect ... I don't really like hot beverages .. weird, I know.

Translation: I actually do like men of color.

11) "You Can Have It All" - Second to Sinatra, the best thing to come out of Hoboken. This is an infectiously catchy song.

Translation: So is the clap. That's why I always remember to wrap it up.

12) "Summer Babe" - Some bands get a bit full of themselves, thinking they are poets rather than rocks tars .. Pavement were poets who were convinced they were rock stars.

Translation: Did I mention I'm BFFs with Jake Shears?

13) "Speed Trials" - Beautifull, sad, stripped-down bare bones song.

Translation: See here for explanation of above "misspent youth."

14) "Crystal" - Still putting out brilliant music.

Translation: Hey, everyone tries it at least once.

15) "Ko Ko" - You just need to hear it.

Translation: How the hell did this get on my iPod?

I 'm so sick and tired of the fact that when a person is suspected that perhaps be gay we feel the need of knowin , if he is gay that is he's problem not ours , if he were straight that weren't a fact to discuss in a blog.

I think it's widely known that Anderson Cooper is gay. I just wish he'd be more up-front about it now that he's in the big time. It would help a lot of people for him to be WIDELY known as gay.

He acknowledged the bf in "Dispatches from the Edge", sort of suprising because he makes a point of not talking about whoever he may be involved with.

Poor guy- would you want the world knowing who you're bedding? Gotta admit- I'm a little sad that he's probably gay and that I don't often hang out with the Vanderbilt clan. He would be a blast to have drinks with and chat about blood and death with;)

admiration and respect, either way.

The fact that everyone says he is and is not gay proves that he can keep his private life away from his professional life =) Good for you Mr. Cooper. =D
