We've already had our fun for the day with Democratic mayor hopeful Anthony Weiner, which thankfully didn't involve reading his entire New York Times profile.
But then a FOJ tipped us off to a trailing note in Weiner's tale of intern to congressman to mayoral candidate.
As a bachelor politician, Mr. Weiner and his dating exploits frequently show up in gossip items. A 2001 Vanity Fair article on Capitol Hill interns reported that he wooed a young woman a few days after the Sept. 11 attacks, introducing himself as "Anthony, an auto parts salesman."
For the record, he said, he is not in a serious relationship. He regrets not being married, but cites his ambitious schedule. "There also weren't a lot of women saying yes," he said with a smile.
Funny, because, as we've known for some time, ABC News Now anchor (and New York Social Diary chess piece) Gigi Stone has been riding the Weinermobile for months. We thought it was general knowledge, hence our non-reportage, but apparently it's flown under the radar for some — unless you read this weekend's Gatecrasher.
