Take 24's creative team and Politically Incorrect's beginnings, inspiration from The Daily Show, and the platform of the Fox News Channel ... and what do you get? A glance into the firey pit of hell that is right-wing humor. After Fox TV's late-night unit passed on a pitch – then titled This Just In – for a satirical news show a la Stephen Colbert, FNC's Roger Ailes took interest in putting the gimmick on air, airing each week on Saturday nights if all goes accordingly. But this is Fox News, not the Comedy Central parody factory:
"It's a satirical news format that would play more to the Fox News audience than the Michael Moore channel," Surnow said. "It would tip more right as 'The Daily Show' tips left."
Which means less truthiness, more falsihoods.
Actually, it means an equal amount of falsihoods, just not ones you care to gullibly swallow.
