In case you weren't in Times Square to hear Hauslaib shouting the joyous news to the tourists in New York, we're here to tell you that Katie Holmes has given birth to a little baby girl. The child of her and Tom Cruise was born today, April 18, 2006, and was named Suri. We think it's kind of a cute name for a kitten child.

(Though, we are actually somewhat shocked that this 7 lbs. 7 ounces of baby was actually kid ... and not a basketball.)

Congrats, Tom and Katie! We hope that being born into a world of silence produced a chill, meditated, calm little daughter who will never need Ritalin, anti-depressants, or sinus medication. Plus, we're sure they'll just adore her — after all, she came just in time for the celeb weekly covers ... not to mention the premiere of Mission Impossible: 3.
