I think that Lindsay has made a brave move to seek help for a problem. Please do not make fun of her and mock her--AA has saved many a life--and what ever meetings that she is going to I would only hope that she gets the respect that she needs.
This is a tough battle, one that last a life time. I am 42, and I went to my first AA meeting when I was 14--I have 28 years clean and sober---and along the way I have seen many friends-not make it.
Please give her time and space and support her. Thats all I ask.

Lindsay may be reaching out for help, but if she avoided her parents house fearing an intervention, and if she views alcohol as her problem (while still using other mind/mood altering substances), she isn't serious about recovery.
She's been toying with AA the same way she toys with life.
It's a serious program and it only works if your serious about recovery. I've yet to see a sign that Lindsay is serious about anything but being another spoiled, self-centered Hollywood brat.
