Not that they needed the photos to get Maxim India to fly off the stands (the three inches of skin was likely enough to get the conservative nation’s men in a tizzy) but Indian actress Khushboo is pretty pissed about a doctored picture that ran in the issue.
The very first issue of Maxim India has managed to spawn national controversy by including a doctored photo that appeared to show a popular Indian actress — who generally goes by only one name, Khushboo — in a bikini.
The actress plans to file a defamation suit against Dennis Publishing for the photo, which ran in a spread called ???????Women you will never see in Maxim — 100% fake,??????? but Dennis says they haven’t yet received any legal documents from Khushboo. Even the cops are running around, confiscating what copies they can get their hands on.
This parody spread is a good idea, though. Maybe N+1 could do a doctored spread on “Women you will never see reading,” and doctor photos of Paris Hilton and Jordan with copies of War and Peace. Those nerds would totally lock themselves in the library for hours.
