Stephanie Green's Remnants of a Bonnie Fuller Tell-All / Jossip
Stephanie Green's Remnants of a Bonnie Fuller Tell-All
— Tue, Aug 22, 2006 —

Nearly two years ago, Stephanie Green was an ex-Star staffer with a Devil Wears Prada (or, in this year's dictionary of cultural references, a How to Lose Friends and Alienate People) in her back pocket. Then American Media sued her ass to keep her Bonnie Fuller tell-all from ever seeing daylight. But in April of last year, that lawsuit got tossed by a judge who called AMI's bluff, freeing Green to proceed with Dishalicious — a book whose title is egregiously historic now that the era of chic lit has come and gone.

But all those legal fees ($30,000) and bad press left her without an agent, without a publishing house, and, you guessed it, without any hope of a book deal with a fat advance that barely average looking girls are inking. So what's any attention-starved industry-blacklisted ex-tabloid staffer to do? Post what remains of her manuscript on her blog, natch. Hundreds of words worth of excerpts are free for your strolling eyes. But, we warn you, they looks something like this:

Brooks looked at me skeptically and with a hint of amusement, while Penny just stared at me blankly, probably trying to place my name. Brooks respected me precisely because I am extremely blunt, as is he. I saw the two of us as kindred spirits???our brutal honesty ricocheted off one another???s egos seamlessly. Also, I???ve always been a total fag hag, ?? la a Jewish version of Patsy from Absolutely Fabulous.

Thanks for the link. But, as far as I know I do still have an agent, it's hard to be blacklisted in Miami, where media as we define it does not exist, and "barely average looking?" Oh, David, I can only hope that's a reference to yesterday's Gawker controversy over Marisha Pessl.

Fourth time's a charm (by which I mean, your comment boards suck):

Average looking?

Damn, you guys must be getting some seriously fine ass to think this girl is only average.

And if so, where are you going to be hanging out this Friday?

After reading this stuff, it's pretty obvious looks and lawsuits have nothing to do with why it hasn't been published.

This had to happen so that when you are on Oprah talking about your "fabulous life" as a published author, the audience will have sympathy for all of your struggles.
GOOD KARMA WILL PREVAIL!

As most educated people know, whether a book is published or not has nothing to do with the quality of the writing. Case in point: Confederacy of Dunces and Memoirs of a Geisha, rejected by nearly 50 publishers before becoming international bestsellers.

This blog is a load of CRAP!!!!!!! Have you met Stephanie Green? She is talented writer. Also she is beautiful, interesting company and is usually dead on with her observations.

SHE WILL BE PUBLISHED.

As an observer, I am quite impressed with Ms. Green and her observations. This puts Devil and Bergdorf Blondes to shame. Let us not forget that this is a few years old. If there was never a lawsuit, than I am convinced these critics would be shining Ms. Green's shoes.

Well Done Ms. Green..I look forward to Dishalicious 2...

Heartfelt thanks, F, whomever you are. Though it won't be called Dish 2, I believe I am now free to write a more memoir-oriented form of a novel, which will be accomplished once I edit down my 400 pages. Stay tuned;)

Wow. That's some lousy writing. She'd better find some other goal in life.
