Greta Van Susteren's Dutifully Extends the Year-Old Playground Fight With Anderson Cooper
Greta v. "The Paris Hilton of Television News"

andersongreta.jpg

A little after noon this Independence Day, Greta Van Susteren was not cooking up burgers and hot dogs with her family, as any patriotic American is supposed to do. She was spending her July 4th blogging, and really, what's more embarrassing than that? However, Van Susteren's sin is forgivable — because once again she was on the attack against CNN's Anderson Cooper 360.

Last time it was for 360's stealing the Rev. Al Sharpton as a guest. This time, she's taking the bait from a dig launched by Cooper's camp.

And this is just the latest tete-a-tete from a lengthy fight between these two kiddos. Whee!

This round all started when 360 exec producer David Doss said Van Susteren's broadcast, unlike his, "is not a news program." Oh no she didn't!

Fires back Greta:

Not a news program?

Now why is he picking a fight? and why is trying to make less of us at 10pm ? Is it because we consistently beat them and have for years?

This is silly that the CNN executive producer of Anderson Cooper is taking a swipe at our hard work but I am going to defend my staff from what is intended to pretend our show is not news.

Yes, now let me KEEP THEM HONEST:

You can read her blog post, with more than 1,800 comments and counting, to see the listicle of reasons why she sees Fox News' 10pm programming just as newsworthy as CNN's. But mostly, it seems Van Susteren is upset CNN sunk a rumored $27 million in promotion dollars into Anderson "Marketing Experiment" Cooper, and that he has some 60 staff members (we've heard upwards of 75) spread out among various CNN newsrooms, while she has a mere 12 to put together her broadcast every night.

Now, lest you think this is the first time Greta and Anderson have been at each other's throats, take a trip back to January/February 2007, when Fox News ran this ad in Television Week:

… which was followed up with this ad from CNN:

Poor Greta. She has had all of life's advantages, yet still decided to join the vicious mind-control cult of Scientology. The sad thing is that she may personally be unaware of Scientology's internal corrections gulag for staff, or its coerced abortions, or its child labor abuses, or its many other crimes; she may have some inkling of its financial shenanigans and tax evasions, but as a Scientologist, she uses a sort of cognitive dissonance to keep those out of her mind. Greta is said to be an OT-V; her husband is OT-VIII, I believe. Help us take down the Scientology criminal racket at http://www.enturbulation.org

Van Susteren needs to realize that sooner than later she's going to lose what's left of her audience to everyone else. Her show is terrible.

Wow….a catfight between Andy and Greta….who gives a shit??!!! Maybe if Andy wasn't so smug and arrogant people could start to "think" of him as a journalist instead of the incredibly wealth and entitled son of Glorida Vanderbilt and the former host of the God-awful "The Mole"….that's where he belongs - back underground before he burns…..

Both of them are too smart to be doing what they are doing. Greta is too smart and educated to be doing that rag show on Fox News. Anderson worked out better when he was partnered with someone. The problem with those networks and all news networks and shows, for that matter, is that they have gone from News Driven to Celebrity Newscaster driven. None of them are Walter Cronkite or Huntley and Brinkley for that matter.

I don't think Anderson should be vilified because he happened to be from a privileged background, there's nothing he could've done about that and at least he's made some effort to not bask in his families millions of dollars and tried to do something substantial with his life. He seems to be a hard worker and despite what one of the comments here is claiming, he doesn't come off like an egotisical asshole; he's modest and low-key and he's good at his job. Greta is a joke as is all of Faux and its viewers. She's so clueless that she doesn't even realize how idiotic her rant makes her look. She's bent out of shape because AC360 has been beating her in a key demo rating for the past two months, so she's losing her mind a little.

Now, we know Greta graduated college and has a law degree. I have no idea but does Anderson have a degree?

Anderson Cooper graduated from Yale University in 1989 with a degree in Political Science. Greta should stick to the law - that's how she got her start on television AT CNN.
