Watch out New York. You are crumbling piece by piece.
You think we haven't noticed the way you took our Second Ave Deli? Or that Blind Tiger sold, never be to re-opened again (despite the lying sign on the door.)
Now, Daffy's (thehaven for Tahari vintage lovers everywhere) is being eaten alive by H&M. Just like SoHo Bloomingdales stomped her Monolos on Canal Jean Co., H&M will grace now boring as Wisconsin 5th Ave with its generic-ness.
The Fifth Avenue and 18th Street branch has shackled its windows and closed its doors with a sign that reads, “lost our lease.â€
We guess CBGBs sucked up all the "save our city" energy that this town could spare. Just hope everyone's happy when the cabs are driving through the fifth Starbucks on Astor Place and they build an Old Navy on W. 10th and Hudson.
Bye, Daffy's; Hello, H & M [Riva Froymovich, The Real Estate]
