Legendary Yanks' Player/Announcer Phil 'Scooter' Rizzuto Dead At 89
"Yogi Berra and Phil Rizzuto (who died yesterday) were teammates, and close friends, for many years," writes a tipster.
"Joe DiMaggio was a teammate of both Rizzuto and Berra – and roomed, on the road, with Rizzuto. On hearing that DiMaggio had become engaged to Marilyn Monroe, Berra said, 'I don't know if it's good for baseball, but it sure beats the hell out of rooming with Phil Rizzuto.'"
