If Only All Reporters Led the Lives of Oscar-Winning Actresses Playing Reporters

Halle Berry – the actress otherwise known as "that girl who regrets talking about her suicide attempts … again" – is also the perfect launch point for Post-It Mandy Stadtmiller's real life review of Perfect Stranger. The flick stars Berry as a tabloid newspaper reporter (for "The Courier") who, it turns out, has many things in common with a real life newspaper reporter like Mandy!

Like Berry's dogged character Rowena, I, too, live in a sick Manhattan apartment, wear only the finest designer clothes and have a creepy relationship with the office I.T. guy (Giovanni Ribisi) who's like a super-cool combination of Knight Rider, James Bond and Jem and the Holograms.

This guy is truly outrageous!

But the real star (hello, who's writing this art-i-cle!) is the reporter. And Rowena totally "gets" how whenever you're writing about a scary murder or whatevs, the nice thing is you always know the person you are writing about. I mean, it's not always your childhood best friend who may have witnessed something she wasn't supposed to growing up - but it usually is.

Being a reporter is so glam-noir-ous!

I just wish I had a quarter for every time I had to go undercover as a slutty, instant-messaging temp working in a slick, ruthless ad agency trying to steal the big Reebok account to investigate the death of my freaky former friend who slept with my ex-boyfriend and was somehow involved in the disturbing, flashback-enhanced incest that I suffered as a child.

It was just like the time we had to let go of one of our editors so she could sneak her way into Page Six for a year-long investigation into Richard Johnson's office habits, all for the sake of an awesome 300-word blog post!
