'Invincible' John Edwards Comes Clean About the Rielle Hunter Affair
But baby daddy he says he's not

Rielle Hunter, the confirmed mistress of John Edwards and lunatic web publisher, did not father the ex-senator's love child, if you're to believe his interview last night with ABC News (video). But Edwards is willing to take a paternity test, if only Hunter will participate, and share the results with the media. Know what? Hunter's sister Melissa thinks it'd be a good idea that Edwards take that test, which is a signal that at least part of the Hunter camp thinks — and is willing to say so publicly — Edwards is the father. (Worth nothing: Last month Extra reported that Hunter denied the Enquirer's allegations. Then again, Edwards was doing that up until two weeks ago.)

Edwards blames the whole thing on "narcissism" and on feeling "invincible."

As for the $114,000 in rumored hush money paid to Hunter for her work with his campaign? As far as Edwards knows, those payments were legit, since their affair began only after she started working for him.

Edwards says he only visited Hunter in Los Angeles — which the National Enquirer scored photos of — to try to keep this whole scandal from becoming public, (did he come bearing cash?) which had the opposite effect. He also didn't tell wife Elizabeth about the meeting until after the fallout began, and he says he told her about the affair after it happened and before the media got hold of the story. (He also says he's "loved only one woman," Elizabeth, for "31 years," which is how long they've been married, but not how long they've been together; they met at UNC.)

Meanwhile, hat tip to ABC News for summing up the entire scandal quite well in its Nightline package. Sure, they only moved on the story because Edwards was willing to admit to the affair, and they agreed with Edwards' demand that the interview air on Nightline — guaranteeing it appear on a 11:35pm broadcast and, perhaps, on the show's Friday night broadcast, ensuring the interview get buried in the weekend news cycle. But Bob Woodruff asked all the right questions, like how Edwards could've tried to become president with this hanging over him, what this means for Edwards' future in politics, and how he feels about all of his supporters.

No. 1 · Keith Olbermann's Ego

He also said in his PR statement last night that he wouldn't be speaking about this again. Then he immediately called up several reporters he felt would be sympathetic to him including Bob Schieffer at CBS. That was a whole 30 minutes before he was caught lying again. I've got the biggest ego in the world and even I wouldn't have tried this stunt.

I would suggest anyone interested in the story go to Huffington Post and read Sam Stein's latest where he unloads all the information he had collected over the months but had never published because he could not have it confirmed.

It is sickening.

Yeah, ego, and one hour after it emerged Baron had paid the lady which sounds at the very least very unseemly, Elizabeth distracted everyone again with her statement on DailyKos.

It is not a heart-breaking confession, it is a PR rollout

Now it's time for all good liberals to "think about the children," specifically John Edwards' newest baby girl…John, John!!! It's not about you….it's about the child! This child needs food, clothing, shelter, medical care, education, a father figure (try hard on this one, John), and a moral compass (might want to pass on this one, John).

I have only two words of advice for Rielle Hunter: "Gloria Allred". You need a shark with a heart. She will help you, just google her.

Hmmmm……so John Edwards thinks he’s off the hook!!! I’ll bet half of his interview on Nightline was a lie. You know darn well that he had sex with Rielle Hunter the last time in Beverly Hills…and, now he’s lying about holding up his new baby girl in the National Enquirer photo… On Nightline, Edwards said that he has "no idea" where the photo came from or who is in it. Is this idiot for real? This guy is just a pathological liar!!! It’s so rare to see one on tape! John Edwards doesn’t have to agree to a paternity test….the child support judge is going to demand it. Get busy!!

Now, for all you John Edwards supporters who are let down…what in the hell were you thinking? Couldn’t you spot this phony the second you saw him? I did. Edwards made his money suing doctors!!!!! He is a professional liar….just like Obama!!! You’re all smucks!!!

Obviously Obama knew about the allegations against Edwards for a long time. If Obama didn’t, then he’s a dope! So, right up until Friday, Edwards was still on the short list for VP.

Yes, this whole “affair” shows that Obama is stupid and needs vetting team (not sleaze hiders) for the VP spot! Now, let's show that Obama knew about the affair and still wanted Edwards.
