Rachel Maddow is wicked smart, articulate and thorough. she'd be a brilliant choice to host a show. She remains respectful even when she's on the attack, so i think even people with differing points of view would welcome the chance to spar.

It took me a little while to warm to her, but now that I've seen her guest host a few shows for other MSNBC hosts, I think she would be a great addition to their lineup. She always seems to have actual FACTS (accurate ones, at that) to back up her opinions and uses them effectively when challenging other panelist's assertions. She's a breath of fresh air and a much needed female voice in the realm of cable political programming. Go for it, MSNBC!

Oh, and her personal life could not be MORE irrelevant. Leave it alone. She doesn't hide it (good for her)but she also doesn't use it as a talking point. I can't think of any comment she's made that seemed to have a sexual orientation agenda to it. I trust she'd be able to offer informed commentary on the subject if she so chooses, but I doubt she would unless it served to further the discussion at hand.

Yes, the sexual orientation issue is not relevant. But she is SUCH a bad actor. Keith Ubber-Boy and Matthews should definately be replaced by Rachel.

She's is exactly what MSNBC needs. Then their 8% of the audience will shrink to 2 percent. Maybe their sponsors will subsidize them for years to come, and we can all tune in once a year, just to be reminded how pathetic these left-wing LOONS can be.

I know lots of folks who could watch her for comedy, then go online for the real news. Ubber-boy is not as interesting as a clown. I prefer a former Rhodes Scholar. When she rails insanely it's a great reminder how sick the intelligentsia has become.

Compared to the constant barrage of predictable garbage spewed out by the republican spin masters and talking heads Rachael is an absolute breath of fresh air.

Unlike the talking heads on the republican self support FOX network she backs up her observations with facts. A habit not often accomplished by the FOX news people.

As for her sex orientation; well only a true conservative would be concerned with that. Personally it bothers me only because I am heterosexual and she is not.
