This week's OK! cover story foolishly claims Jennifer Aniston is getting ready to marry — she even has her strapless Vera Wang dress ready! — which is less an attempt to report an accurate story and more a ploy to move newsstand copies to gullible readers, who are always more keen to snap up wedding (or baby) covers. "OK! is so happy that Jen’s in love. We can’t wait for the wedding," says the tabloid's exec editor Rob Shuter. Nevermind that Aniston's rep Stephen Huvane denies the whole thing, and, as Cover Awards notes, Us Weekly is only too happy to report the denial.
Innnnteresting, coming from a tabloid that has its own history of Aniston wedding denials.
In 2006, Us reported that Aniston's then boyfriend, Vince Vaughn, proposed to her. Huvane quickly denied it, but as Us points out, Huvane, seen here with his star client, has been caught lying on more than one occasion.
Like the time Huvane denied Aniston and Brad Pitt were ever engaged. They married in July 2000.
Or the time Huvane denied Aniston and Pitt were having marital difficulties. They announced their separation two weeks later in 2005.
And the time Huvane denied Aniston and Vaughn were an item. They were photographed canoodling.
