Jeremy Piven & Speed-the-Plow Producers Agree on Nothing

SAG Awards Arrivals

Jeremy Piven joined Speed-the-Plow's Broadway producers at a union hearing earlier today to discuss his sudden exit from the show, which he quit under the guise of too closely resembling a thermometer. They just wrapped things up, and they're about to have a press conference. So, has anything been resolved in this over-the-top display of one-upmanship? Not really.

The two sides just released this joint statement we obtained: "A grievance hearing was held today in accordance with the Equity-League Production Contract regarding the matter of Jeremy Piven and Speed-the-Plow. Following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, a panel of five League representatives and five Equity representatives met and heard the positions of the parties. The League and Equity representatives were unable to reach a unanimous decision. The Producers have the right, as a next step, to proceed to arbitration."

And you have the right, as a next step, to watch exciting video footage of Piven attending the hearing!
