She is currently in the middle of recording a terrific new album that we are very excited about releasing it in the second half of this year."

That's Jive Records, denying rumors that they're about to drop Britney Spears – who's sold nearly 90 million records for 'em – from its client roster, thanks in part to her behavior and inability to produce anything decent in the studio.

And it's just the type of canned response you'd expect from the studio. Now if only Leslie Sloane Zelnik hadn't dropped Britney back in October, we could've expected a much more colorful response.
