In exciting (albeit not particularly surprising) news for Intern Wendy and her Cable Quotables column, the Washington Post's Howard Kurtz reports that MSNBC is "finalizing the details for Morning Joe to permanently take over the 6-to-9 morning slot."
"The network this week is removing the 'Scarborough Country' name from his old 9 p.m. program, now being hosted by MSNBC's general manager, Dan Abrams," writes the WaPo.
Scarborough, who has been filling in for the past five weeks or so, is said to be excited about leaving his evening program, Scarborough Country in favor of the too-early-for-young-people time slot, explaining "I get to be myself [in the morning.]"
Which, in Scarborough's case, means schizophrenia humor, colorful post-debate commentary and a proclivity for pitching tents.
Which isn't exactly our cup of tea (or should we say "joe?") but hey, to each their own.

NEVER use Don Imus' name in the same sentence as Joe Scarborough, especially if it also includes the word "replacement". Not gonna happen. Occupying the time slot does not the void fill.
Excuse me….what moron wrote "Joe Scarborough Is Officially The Next Don Imus"??? Joe Scarborough is a low-rated ex-Congressman desperately seeking a role on a third-or-fourth rated cable news network of little distinction…..Don Imus was the pioneer "shock jock", #1 in NYC, a 35-year legend noted for blistering comedy, great news-making interviews, and a man who is right now trying to brighten the lives of seriously ill children. What has "Morning Joe" done, besides falter in the ratings? Please….don't insult your few readers…….
Its hard to believe that Mika has lasted on your show, but this morning was absolutely over the top. What an arrogant condescending, patronizing egotistical so in so. In case you all have not thought about it. The East is not the majority of the Country. Lord give us strength. She would not give up look down her nose on Huckabee. I am not backing him, but she was rediculous. I am a military wife from the North and living in the South, and I assure you we all don't need her snobbery so early in the AM. Have you ever thought about just the two men. Be brave and different. Too many of todays TV women are no narcissitic they offer very little. A female lawyer might add a lot. Fox has two or three.
