What doesn't make sense why did he have to get rid of her body? Why didn't he call an ambulance. What was he guilty of, making out on the beach or something more serious. You would only get rid of a body if you knew that the body would show how you killed her or how she died and that you were the one that caused it to happen. I still have my doubts about what caused her death. I believe that he was the last one with her, and that he caused her death, because why would he get rid of her body. There was something to hide. Maybe he didn't intentionally kill her, or mabye he did. But he should be a man and tell authorties everything. One thing he won't have if he keeps on lying, and telling partial stories, is peace. He will live with this the rest of his life. He might as well just tell the truth 100%, pay the consequences, ask forgiveness of Natalies Parents and all those that he hurt and hope that out of this he and the world has learned something that might help others out in the future. Our heart goes out to Natalie's Parents and loved ones who lost their daughter too soon and will never probably know the 100% truth.

I agree with Lou. If something happens to someone you're with, you call for medical help. Disposing of the body = hiding evidence. Had he raped her, strangled her or "roughed her up"? We'll never know for sure how she died. Unless…..Joran is administered sodium pentethal or some other means to extract the "truth" from him.

Be sure you've seen the whole story and have heard comments from mr p. r. de Vries before you make your conclusion. Joran's answer to the video's that they a ly is just a formality to keep out of reach of the Dutch justitia. Joran will never say this tapes are the truth beceause fisik evidence is never found.
Note that this story began innocent; joran was taken by Natalee, not Natalee by joran. Joran's made a very bad mistake when he disposed the body of Natelee instead of getting help. He had brought others in problem (deepak, satish and dau) to solve what wasn't a problem for him. Still the death of natalee can be an accidant of using alcohol..
Joran had have several chanches to escape from his bad mistake by telling the truth when justice discovered the first lies of joran.
After seeing the movies and his talks about natalee., there is no reason to believe joran. This is not just gossip. I never beleived that joran didn't know anything about the dissapearing of Natalee because of the small timegap, althoug he had not any reason to kill her..
I think its better for Joran when that he will be arrested.
And for anyting else: Joran doesn't need any help. He had already shown.

Nadat ik de films heb gezien en de manier waarop hij zich uitliet heb ik geen enkele reden om joran nu nog te geloven. Dit zijn niet zomaar fantasieverhalen. Ik heb joran nooit kunnen geloven dat hij van niks wist wegens de korte tijdspanne waarin hij met Natalee verbleef, ook al had hij geen enkele reden Natalee iets aan te doen. Op dit moment denkt ik dat het voor Joran beter is dat hij gearresteerd wordt..
En voor wat mij betreft denk ik dat joran verder enkele hulp nodig heeft. Dat heeft hij al laten zien.

I agree with Steve above…Joran would only have tried to dispose of her body if he knew what killed her and knew it would point back to him. I have always thought that he used a date rape drug and this was probably something he and his friends did frequently with the "seniors" that frequently visited Aruba.

Thanks to the person who caught him on tape. He's done a great deal of justice already - the suspect had been publicly sentenced and had given leads where to possibly recover the remains. I pity the family of the culprit whether they are protecting him or not - it would excruciatingly hurt to have that amount of angst knowing that wherever they or their son's gonna go -in or out of jail - they'll be haunted forever. May the angel of strength be with the family of the victim so they can finally find peace.

Assuming what Joran says is true about Natalee having convulsions, losing consciousness, couldn't revive her…maybe she had ingested a "date rape" drug. Even if Joran had not been involved in giving her the drug, she could have somehow ingested it in the atmosphere of the club. But slipping her the drug (and not telling that part of the story) is more consistent with his actions, and would tend to explain a lot.

I hope he goes down so hard. The other person who was involved, according to Joran, he's in deep crap unless he really does have some kind of alibi. Of course, he's had a long time to try to construct that alibi.

Jack, apparently all the students were dispersed onto the street when the bar (CnC) closed around 1:30 AM. They all had to lineup to get taxis and it appears that Natalee was coerced into accepting a ride from JvdS, DK and SK. Also, it's reported that Natalee told her friends she'd be OK. It all happened in a matter of minutes and Natalee ending up with the 3 boys was unexpected.

I read all the previous post and agree that there should be justice not only for the family but the Arubian people itself, a Dutchmen not even Aruban born is damaging the islands' name. Now that this happen a lot of people think this is a common occurrence on the island and that is wrong. This is the first time we had an incident with a tourist like this. I admit that the police force is not prepared for this, but they had help from the FBI, Dutch Royal Air Force and Dutch police equivalent to the FBI, they couldn’t get solid evidence; and we still get criticism from a large group of people. People promoting boycotting an island because 3 stupid people not even born in Aruba, that is not fair. The world doesn't criticize you for crimes in your nation, well they do, maybe not in your face but they don't boycott you. Murderers always talk about their crimes. It is the profile of a murderer and how most are caught. It was only a matter of time before the truth came out. Joran is guilty of murder and needs to suffer the consequences.

My guess is that it was an invitation to the beach to get high and then they took advantage of her, more than likely with a date-rape drug. Whether she went into convulsions or not, passed out, or passed away, this miserable low-life van der sloot then felt he absolutely had to erase all ties to her. Otherwise, why wouldn't he have called for medical help? Instead, he called a "friend" to help him. On the video, he states that he "has friends in high places"…."a higher power", as he put it. He even stated that he called this "friend" from a payphone, not his cell phone! What did he have to hide with that?

This "friend in high places" obviously points to someone with power and authority, e.g., a police captain or a dignitary with some power. Hey, look at who his father is!

The "friend" then took her body and dumped it in the ocean, probably a few miles out. I truly believe that there is a cover-up from some fairly powerful people on that island. Even government officials.

He…."van der sloot" is saying that "he" didn't kill her. He probably is justifying his innocence (to himself) by blaming her death on the alcohol she had earlier - not "simply" the date rape drug he gave her. More than likely he feels this way as using date rape drugs on others, as he's probably done in the past, never resulted in this type of situation.

van der sloot is 18 now, and still able to justify, or even block what happened, even claim a "pseudo" or false innocence, as many young people can do. But when he gets older, he will have to face his guilt when his youthful tolerance eventually gives way.

I hope the truth eventually comes out, if only for the Holloway family to have some sort of peace in this, if such is possible.
