From a CBS source: Katie Couric's camp is working out the final numbers to sever her deal with CBS News. Word has it that Bob Scheiffer will step in, "at least for a while." And expect exec producer Rick Kaplan to make his way to the door as well.

I am happy for her, she is famous, rich, established so why should she take any crap. Nobody watches CBS anyway, except for 60 Minutes, the evening news on CBS is lame no matter who is hosting. When she smiled too much they criticized her, if she doesn't smile at all, they bash her, her skirts were too short, etc. etc. She has personality and belongs on a different type of show. Mazel Katie.

I haven't even watched 60 Minutes since that grumpy old man started cutting down on his workload.

Katie, it's okay. When you leave, they'll realize that it's CBS that sucks.
