There’s one problem with Keith Olbermann’s “voice”. He’s set himself up as a real journalist. Real journalists do NOT broadcast their opinions as Olbermann has. I may agree in principle with what he says but I have one hell of a problem with anyone who interjects their opinion into “news” shows. I didn’t like it when Fox did it and I don’t like Olbermann for the same reason. That and he’s an egotistical asshole.

Mr. Gregory may be many things, but he comes across to me as a tough, but fair minded Journalist. I think someone at NBC has an eye for genuine talent and has tabbed Mr. Gregory as a rising star. He seems to deserve what he’s achieved so far.
Mr. Olbermann on the other hand, is a caricature, a buffoon. I once enjoyed his sportscasts and respected his knowledge. But now, it’s clear he has some grandiose picture of himself.
Laura Ingram may have hit the nail on the head. What’s really upset Keith’s applecart this week is the fact that NBC picked Jimmy Fallon to take over the ‘Late Night’ duties and not Olbermann.
I predict in 2009, we’ll see Gregory’s star ascending and Olbermann’s flame out.

I don’t see Gregory’s show being aired three times daily. Olbermann show is so popular that NBC is considering adding his show on their sunday night line up. When they last aired his anniv. show just a few weeks ago, it won it time slot against ABC, Fox and CBS.

I don’t care for Joe Scarbourough but even he thinks Gregory is a jerk. So I would re-evaluate the notion that David Gregory’s star is rising. After this election, he’ll go back to his White House day job.

I don’t have a problem with Olbermann’s opinion. He is a bit of an O’Reilly stalker and his show’s relationship to O’Reilly’s is parasitic. KO can say what he likes about the Hannities and O’Reillys of this world, but at least they have people on their shows who disagree with them.
