Keith Olbermann Joins David Gregory’s Shit List … In the Middle of a Live Broadcast

Perhaps before Clinton, Obama, or McCain is crowned president this November, MSNBC’s David Gregory will have alienated every other on-air talent at the network.

So far he’s already earned the ire of Chris Matthews (MSNBC head Phil Griffin wants to replace the Hardballer with Gregory); Joe Scarborough (he stormed off the set when Gregory was allowed to hog camera time, though he’s never liked him much).

And as of last night? Keith Olbermann.

From inside MSNBC we hear Gregory and Olbermann kicked off a feud of their own while ankling last night’s West Virgina primary coverage. In fact, viewers may have witnessed it.

Around 10pm, you might’ve heard a very loud thud, followed by Gregory abruptly wrapping up his panel discussion. (See the clip.)

According to witnesses, that thud was Olbermann slamming his fist down on his desk (he was in one studio with Chris Matthews), because he felt Gregory and his panel, in another area, were going on way too long, and nobody was telling him to wrap it up.

Another MSNBC host thinking Gregory is getting too much time in front of the camera? Uh oh.

“As awkward as it was on the air, the fight off-air was really intense and uncomfortable,” says a source.

Gregory got pissed. “Infuriated” at Olbermann’s public behavior, he ripped into producers about the incident, and then headed to Phil Griffin to retell the injustice.

It remains unclear whether Griffin then had a talking to with Olbermann.

Says our source: “The Olbermann-Gregory feud is on.”

Maybe MSNBC should try to hire some intelligent, insightful newsmen for a change, rather than the half-wit, faux-intellectual partisans who are more concerned about their hair, airtime, and the fawning of the commenters at Daily Kos than about knowing things.

Just an idea.

David Gregory is a Jerk. I don’t know why he was given his own show. He interrupts people on his panel who doesn’t side with him. He’s a closet republican because she just loves Joe Scarborough and loud mouth Pat Buchanan. He gives these two move talk time to spew their republican opinions and agendas. He’s jealous of Keith Olbermann because Gregory’s rating are horrible. Other than Chris Matthews, its Keith who’s the star of MSNBC and when Olbermann did his 5th anniv. on NBC it won its time slot that sunday evening. Get rid of Gregory and expand Olbermann format.

Olbermann is a hyprocrite. He takes shots at Bill O’Reilly every night. I don’t care that he slams O’Reilly (who is a pompous jerk) but he always talks about how Bill O is a shill for the GOP. Any objective person that listens to Keith each night would have to admit that he’s a partisan hack as well.

KO is a complete jerk! Gregory has earned his stripes in DC and deserves his show…..unlike KO. Olbermann would crumble if he ever had to do a White House Press Conf…….how ridiculous of KO to think he’s some big shot……he’s just a loudmouth jerk. Regardless how much Americans are disappointed in the last eight years…….it’s no excuse for disrespecting the office of Presidency. If we as Americans do not hold onto that understanding…….we are a Nation with no boundaries. The fact we have always maintained our ability to be able to practice our freedom of speech, does not mean to disrespect. Bush will be judged in history. Bush has been subjected to an incredible amount of hatred by Americans……almost to the point of unhealthy. I guess this flair up btwn. DG and KO just shows that DG understands real journalism as oppossed to emotional , so called, journalism.

Keith Olbermann is the only voice on T.V. that captures the outrage and hurt that people of conscience in America harbor. Articulating the truth of the destruction of Iraq through words and demeanor may keep the Brownshirts, which judgeing by these comments still exsist, from butchering more women and children in Iraq.

There’s one problem with Keith Olbermann’s “voice”. He’s set himself up as a real journalist. Real journalists do NOT broadcast their opinions as Olbermann has. I may agree in principle with what he says but I have one hell of a problem with anyone who interjects their opinion into “news” shows. I didn’t like it when Fox did it and I don’t like Olbermann for the same reason. That and he’s an egotistical asshole.

Why don’t you give back your grandmother’s douchebag and stop blaming Olbermann for taking it. I’ve been watching Gregory for years and he’s no different than the rest of MSM’s reporters. Mr. Gregory may be many things, but he comes across to me as a tough, but fair minded Journalist. I think someone at NBC has an eye for genuine talent and has tabbed Mr. Gregory as a rising star. He seems to deserve what he’s achieved so far.
Mr. Olbermann on the other hand, is a caricature, a buffoon. I once enjoyed his sportscasts and respected his knowledge. But now, it’s clear he has some grandiose picture of himself.
Laura Ingram may have hit the nail on the head. What’s really upset Keith’s applecart this week is the fact that NBC picked Jimmy Fallon to take over the ‘Late Night’ duties and not Olbermann.
I predict in 2009, we’ll see Gregory’s star ascending and Olbermann’s flame out.

I don’t see Gregory’s show being aired three times daily. Olbermann show is so popular that NBC is considering adding his show on their sunday night line up. When they last aired his anniv. show just a few weeks ago, it won it time slot against ABC, Fox and CBS.

I don’t care for Joe Scarbourough but even he thinks Gregory is a jerk. So I would re-evaluate the notion that David Gregory’s star is rising. After this election, he’ll go back to his White House day job.

I don’t have a problem with Olbermann’s opinion. He is a bit of an O’Reilly stalker and his show’s relationship to O’Reilly’s is parasitic. KO can say what he likes about the Hannities and O’Reillys of this world, but at least they have people on their shows who disagree with them. I would think KO’s show would be a borefest to intelligent liberals.

They have to turn their comments off when talking about certain conservative reps. I’ll repeat that so it will sink in for you - TURN THEM OFF because the comments are so ridiculous and mind-bogglingly hateful. So Pot - meet Kettle.

If it wasn’t for Bush, Olbermann would be just another second-rate MSNBC host getting his nuts kicked in by Fox. Face it - Olberdoof is starting to lose his freaking mind. Pretty soon, even goobers like you will be turned off by him.

Sssshhhhh…..Don’t tell any of your buddies, but he hurts your cause. That’s why we love him so. The more he opens his acid piehole, the more moderates will get sick of him.
