L.A. Times Endorses First Democratic Candidate, Ever
This is a Big deal, y'all

The editors at the L.A. Times have come out in support Barack Obama, a little late in the game but it's all good. Especially since this is the first time in the paper's 120+ years in the business to endorse a Democrat for the office. Cramazing!

Looks like Sam Zell and co. haven't quite run the paper into the ground yet:

Our nation has never before had a candidate like Obama, a man born in the 1960s, of black African and white heritage, raised and educated abroad as well as in the United States, and bringing with him a personal narrative that encompasses much of the American story but that, until now, has been reflected in little of its elected leadership. The excitement of Obama's early campaign was amplified by that newness. But as the presidential race draws to its conclusion, it is Obama's character and temperament that come to the fore. It is his steadiness. His maturity.

Update: Chicago Tribune just came out with their own endorsement of Obama, which is their first Democratic nominee as well. Trend, or is it just because LA Times and Chicago are owned by the same Zell?

I have lived in Los Angeles and Southern California since I was eight years old and I can tell you, The LA Times suffers from not being owned by a local as it was for many, many years, namely the Chandler family.

The owner of this rag is from Chicago, so what do you expect? The reporting is so slanted, I'm starting to think I live in that city.

Don't count McCain out. There is a strong force of Dems voting for him which will put a dent into Barky's contingency. He may have to cancel that Iranian caviar, champagne and lobster from the Waldorf that he and Militant Michelle have ordered to celebrate their victory.

Oh yes, the Supreme Court decision today does not rule out a trouble free election result from Ohio. Be ready for this version of Florida 2008.

I am Canadian, and reading all of the comments, pro and con, about Obama vs McCain is further proof of how carefully the American people are being manipulated. Race switches flipped, 'terrorist connection' switch flipped (come on, the Bildeberg Group and others plotted 9/11), the 'ignant and proud' switch flipped by Palin….these White House figureheads ultimately matter very little on the world stage, except in a cosmetic sense. In the meantime, the dialogue gets foamier, the rabies spreads…
