Law & Order Announces Plans For Completely Fictional Anna Nicole Smith Episode

We admit it. We are absolutely, positively 100% obsessed with Law & Order. From the pre-Sam Waterston days to the wisecracking Jerry Orbach era to the especially heinous sexually based offenses (and Star Jones cameos) we can't get enough!*

However, the one Law & Order spin-off we never really got into was Criminal Intent.** (Something about Vincent D'Onofrio's large, hulking frame—and the absence of B.D. Wong—just kinda rubbed us the wrong way).

But we'll definitely be tuning in on May 8th to see their (completely fictional! Not at all reality-based!) take on Anna Nicole Smith.

Because Anna Nicole Smith will be played by actress (and former Skating With Celebrities adulteress) Kristy Swanson. Because, in the above picture, Swanson looks totally fierce! And because Swanson's already been embracing her voluptuous, full-figured Anna Nicole-ness!

Executive Producer Warren Leight called Swanson “unselfconscious about herself and her endowment. When people would bring a photo over for her to sign, she would say, ‘I assume you want me to sign [on] my breasts.”

Talk about getting into your character! As far as we're concerned, Kristy, you've already got that Emmy nomination on lock-up.

* Luckily for us, it's on approximately 27 times a day.
** And Trial By Jury, but that one kinda goes without saying.

Pre-Sam Waterston days?! Exactly how long has this show been on? I've just begun to watch it and now I realize I'll NEVER get through all the reruns. D'Onofrio's bizarre performance is a blast, IMO, but I've always loved weird TV detectives.
