Life Magazine Dies, Awaits Proper Burial

Time Inc. has announced today that Life magazine will be folding, after the print issue dated April 20, 2007. The disappearance of Life (currently distributed as a weekly newspaper supplement) marks the first time 'Life' ended since, well, the last time…thirty-five years ago.

Naturally, the announcement was met by disappointment (by the magazine's many staffers) dismay (by its small, but sort-of dedicated readership) and really bad puns (by every bored reporter in print/media).

From E&P:
"'LIFE' Cut Short: Time Inc. Shutters Newspaper Supplement"

From Gawker:
"Time Inc. CEO "Regrets To Inform You" That 'Life' Is Over"

From Fishbowl:
"Death to Life."

Mainstream media journalists and bloggers uniting in a puntastic farewell to a magazine beloved by senior citizens everywhere? It truly is the end of Life as we know it.

*So meta!
